By default, the file cabinet in a Groupsite follows the same rules of visibility Groupsite it.

If the Groupsite is closed, the file cabinet is closed and its contents can only be seen by members. If a Groupsite is, so are the files in the File Cabinet.

Sometimes, you can upload files (including images) in a private office and then decide you want to use as external links on your website or blog. Problem is, if they are in a private archive of Ministers, non-members will not be able to see on the website.

This also happens in Groupsites that have “limited” visibility (which are not members can view the Summary page only). If you embed a graphic image in a module on the Summary page and a member does not come to visit, they will not see that image.

You can over the default file visibility in shaping a Groupsite or even a file folder level.

This allows you to loosen controls (some files to a private group to be visible by non-members) or control (for members only to see the files, even in a public Groupsite).

Global Settings

Global Settings allow you to change the default permissions on all folders (and files within them) that are in your group file cabinet.

You can locate these files and the world media controls permit from the Manager tab and click on the sub-group settings, click the permissions controls, and then scroll down to “file permissions and media “page.

Will have 3 options:

__ Default (Groupsite still visible)

__ Only members can download

__ Anyone can download (file associations to non-members)

Settings folder – (Overrides default / Global)

In addition to the global configuration, Edit buttons in your file cabinet allow you to control the visibility of an individual folder level. Permissions set on the folder level will override the permissions of files and media default (global) settings. Click on the icon of gear to the right of any folder in your file cabinet to manipulate the configuration of your folders.

There are 3 options visible in the folder level:

__ Only visible to administrators group

__ Default (File Cabinet further visibility)

__ Members can not see (downloading) files

When you change the setting of visibility from a folder, this adjustment will apply to all subfolders in that folder. For example, if you decide to make a folder visible only to a steering group, “all files in this folder will also only be visible to a group manager. However, if you want to do some of the sub-folders and their contents visible to members or even non-members, can change the visibility of the sub-folder (s) at any time using the Edit menu (gear) button.
